Commercial collaboration is a powerful tool for DuPage businesses who are looking to partner locally whether it be to identify new channels for their product, reduce supply chain footprints, or strive for innovation. The pandemic has proven that keeping a close supply chain and sourcing locally may prevent supply chain impediments, lower costs of goods and services and expedite the movement of goods and services.

Providing new channels for commercial collaboration has additional benefits for a county like DuPage that is rich in talent and houses a diverse industry base. It provides an avenue to create new strategic alliances in all industry sectors and fuel innovation in our research and development, science, and technology sectors. Most importantly, collaborating locally means investing locally which is essential to the health of the DuPage economy.

ACTION PLAN

1. Establish Choose DuPage as a supply-chain resource for companies looking to collaborate locally by connecting local suppliers to specific industry leaders upon request. Consider hosting a supply chain fair and creating a supply chain data base for companies within DuPage.
   
   
2. Identify new opportunities for commercial collaboration within specific industry sectors and sectors may benefit from partnerships with Argonne National Laboratory, Fermilab, colleges and universities.
