Promote and Connect the DuPage Business Community with the Resources and Opportunities that Exist at our National Laboratories

Our region is home to the highest concentration of top-tier research facilities in the world, including two of the nation’s seventeen national laboratories: Argonne and Fermilab. Through collaborations both here and around the world, these laboratories answer some of the biggest questions facing humanity today. Along with other organizations and institutions in DuPage, our national labs provide valuable opportunities for advancement in both the public- and private-sector.

  1. Work with Argonne, Fermilab and Innovation DuPage on a strategy to educate and connect the business community with resources and applications available at the national labs. This will have a special focus on the Advance Photon Source (APS), the Exascale Supercomputer and other emerging initiatives (Quantum, AI, HPC).

  2. Continue to promote the research, initiatives, and scientific accomplishments of both national labs.

  3. Develop a business attraction program targeted at those businesses who might benefit from being in close proximity to a national lab. In addition, identify opportunities to target specific industry sectors or clusters that have been identified as “growth sectors” by Choose DuPage and the State of Illinois (i.e., life sciences, battery, hydrogen, etc.).
