Dear Editor: This letter is in response to Joe Cahill’s September 26 column, Why McDonald’s and Walgreens need to move downtown. In the article, Mr. Cahill attempts to make the argument that McDonald’s and Walgreens would be well served by relocating to downtown Chicago. Record Year for DuPage County Tourism Revenues

For the third straight year, newly released Illinois tourism figures show DuPage County posting historic highs in annual revenues while helping boost the county’s economy. The DuPage Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) is pleased to announce that DuPage County tourism expenditures continue to rise, with 2014’s revenues and tax contributions at all-time highs for the third straight year. According to the State of Illinois Office of Tourism (IOT), visitors to DuPage County contributed $2.428 billion to the state’s economy in 2014, representing a 4.8% increase over 2013. In comparison, 2013 experienced a 3.1% increase over 2012. Continue reading
