Choose DuPage, the Village of Winfield, and Conor Commercial Real Estate held a ribbon-cutting ceremony this past week to celebrate opening of the North Avenue Commerce Center, a Class A industrial building and the largest commercial development in Winfield’s history.
“Securing the North Avenue Commerce Center development is another big win for the industrial market here in DuPage County,” said Ray Kinney, Chairman of the Choose DuPage Marketing Committee. “Early estimates indicate that this project could create roughly 200 warehouse distribution jobs, with an additional 80 jobs inside the office.”
Located across from the Wheaton Bible Church on the southwest corner of North Avenue and Morton Road in Winfield, the North Avenue Commerce Center is a premier 265,550 square foot industrial facility. The site includes 12 trailer parking stalls as well as on-site parking for up to 228 vehicles. Recruitment of the Class A facility to DuPage County was successfully orchestrated by the efforts of Choose DuPage, the County’s public/private economic development alliance.
The North Avenue Commerce Center is ideally located along State Route 64 in DuPage County, with easy access to I-355, six miles from I-355 and the I-390 expansion project, 10 miles from I-290 and I-88, and just 20 miles from O’Hare International Airport.
“The demand for industrial facilities of this scale and quality in the Central DuPage submarket by far outpaces supply and so we built on spec, anticipating the robust customer interest we have seen since breaking ground last fall,” shared Brian Quigley, Executive Vice President of Conor Commercial, noting “the central location of the project in DuPage County is perfect for logistics providers, e-commerce companies and manufacturers.” This 32’ clear height RSF facility with terrific high image exposure on North Avenue is now available for sale or lease.
“The Village is pleased to welcome this $23 million e-Commerce Center to Winfield. This development is the result of hard work, collaboration, and innovation by the Conor team, Choose DuPage, and village staff. We look forward to the additional economic vitality and jobs the new e-Commerce center will bring to the Winfield,” commented Village President Erik Spande.
The six acre building along 17 acres of North Avenue frontage represents the largest commercial development in Winfield’s history. The new facility can accommodate industrial users from 60,000 square feet with occupancy slated for Q4 2019.
