Bensenville

The Village of Bensenville, with a population of over 18,000 residents, is located approximately 17 miles northwest of downtown Chicago, bordering the southwest corner of O’Hare International Airport. Bensenville functions as a key gateway from adjoining Cook County into DuPage County, and with its low DuPage County tax rate is an ideal place to live, play, work, and conduct business. The Village is home to over 1,500 businesses and it has one of the largest industrial parks in Illinois.

Bensenville provides convenient access to the greater Chicago area and is a hub of vehicular, air, rail, and public transportation. Bensenville is within minutes of I-290, I-294, I-90 and the future of I-390 Western Access O’Hare. O’Hare International Airport is only minutes away from Bensenville, and Midway International Airport is approximately 15 miles away. Bensenville has a Metra commuter rail station which provides a short 30-minute ride to Chicago Union Station. Suburban PACE bus service is also available with routes that provide convenient access to the Bensenville and Elmhurst Metra stations, and the Rosemont CTA Blue Line station.

Bensenville works cooperatively with its business community to maintain and enhance its tax and employment base, while also preserving and enhancing its residential neighborhoods. The Village has many amenities, including high-quality municipal facilities, the Bensenville Theatre and Redmond Recreational Complex. The Redmond Complex is comprised of the Edge Ice Arenas, Waters Edge Aquatic Center, a band shell, baseball fields, basketball courts, soccer fields, climbing wall and volleyball courts. The Edge Ice Arena facility is the practice facility for the NHL’s Chicago Blackhawks and home of the Chicago Steel, a member of the United States Hockey League, a junior hockey program for players between the ages of 16-20, bringing in nearly one million visitors a year.

Bensenville hosts a variety of special events that draw thousands regional visitors. In addition to hockey and ice skating events, there is a Music in the Park summer concert series, Classic Car Nights, Holiday Magic, and Fourth of July fireworks and celebration.

The Village is served principally by public School District 2 and Fenton High School District 100. In addition, several parochial schools are located in the Village. Bensenville is also home to a Robert Morris University branch campus. The University utilizes Bensenville’s athletic facilities for several of its collegiate sports including men’s and women’s hockey, men’s and women’s soccer, men’s baseball, and women’s softball.
