Edward-Elmhurst Health (EEH) has announced a 188,000-square-foot relocation and expansion of its headquarters to 4201 Winfield Road in Warrenville, Illinois. The healthcare provider, which is comprised of three hospitals—Edward Hospital, Elmhurst Hospital and Linden Oaks Behavioral Health—will relocate from two facilities, a 98,000-square-foot Elmhurst office and a 73,820-square-foot space in Warrenville.
David Justh of CBRE represented EEH in the transaction. Jeff Shay and Lyle Patterson of JLL represented ownership. The new location, formerly the headquarters for Navistar, will be an expansion of 16,180 square feet for EEH, which was created by the merger of Edward Hospital and Elmhurst Memorial Healthcare in 2013. The firm will occupy the new space in November of this year.
“This is an amazing opportunity for Edward-Elmhurst to reposition itself and create an environment that will assure the attraction and retention of top quality employees,” said Justh. “When complete, this will be one of the best workplaces and buildings in the Chicago area.”
As part of the move, EEH will complete a significant interior build-out of its space to incorporate a new workplace design and strategy that will include an open floorplan. CBRE’s workplace practice consulted on the design and CBRE project management will oversee the completion. Whitney Architects has been retained as the architect and Executive Construction Inc. will complete the tenant build-out.
Situated in the Cantera business park, 4201 Winfield Road is undergoing a full building repositioning. In addition to all new finishes in the lobby and common areas, the building will boast a state-of-the-art fitness center, tenant lounge, conferencing center and on-site deli with outdoor patio area. The property also offers outdoor activities across its 26 acres, including a basketball court, putting green, sand volleyball and bocce ball courts.
