Pace brings better transit to the Aurora area, effective October 26

Pace Image Highlights include improved service frequency and hours of service Beginning October 26, transit riders in the Aurora area will begin using an all-new service model that they helped to design. Pace conducted intensive research and held multiple rounds of public feedback sessions to make a series of service revisions designed around what riders said they wanted: bus routes that operate more frequently, later at night and that travels to newly developed retail destinations around the area. Finisher medals are a symbol of hard work, dedication and accomplishment, to say the very least for some. That’s why husband and wife, Ken and Nell Posmer of Downers Grove decided to find a better solution to showcase their hard earned Medals rather than store them in a drawer. After completing the Boston Marathon, Ken decided his finisher medal was too precious to toss in the drawer with the rest. Work begins on Wood Dale Interchange to new Route 390 O’Hare access road

The new Route 390 western access road to O’Hare won’t be complete for two years, but work gets under way this week on the Wood Dale Road Interchange, which will provide full access to the new all electronic tollway. The $26 million interchange, part of the Elgin O’Hare Western Access Project, is scheduled to be complete by the end of 2017, according to the Illinois Tollway. It replaces the signalized intersection at Thorndale Avenue and Wood Dale Road, and provides access to Route 390 via eastbound and westbound frontage roads. Continue reading
