Work begins on Elgin-O’Hare Western Access

Pat Quinn and a host of dignitaries gathered Tuesday to officially kick off the massive 12-year, $3.4 billion Elgin-O’Hare Western Access Project. Quinn and others gathered at Park Road and Thorndale Avenue in Itasca to break ground on the lengthening and widening of the Elgin-O’Hare Expressway and construction of a new tollway that will ring the western edge of O’Hare International Airport. New Production Facility for Electri-Flex Company

Electri-Flex Company, a leader in electrical conduit, located in Roselle, Illinois has recently announced plans to expand their production into a 52,000 square foot facility at Chancelor Drive in Roselle. This expansion will move approximately half their current production. “This means a lot to Electri-Flex and its ability to remain a top provider of electrical conduit. Moving into heavy manufacturing not only means bringing jobs to DuPage County, it also allows us to build on our reputation of worldwide quality, service, and product innovation,” said Jason Kinander, CEO. DuPage Wants a Tech Incubator, Too

Tech incubators aren’t just for city folks. DuPage County is launching its own digital-tech incubator to be called Rev3. Details are scant. The incubator, which will be spearheaded by the county’s economic-development arm, Choose DuPage, doesn’t have a location or sponsors yet. It’s crowdsourcing much of the plan, though Rev3 appears to lean far more heavily toward tech-enabled manufacturing than its counterparts such as 1871 and Catapult. Click here to read full article. Rev3 Innovation Center Launching in DuPage County

LISLE, IL, October 1, 2013 — Choose DuPage, an economic development agency dedicated to the attraction and retention of businesses to DuPage County, today announced plans for a new innovation center, Rev3. Named for the third revolution of digital technology, Rev3 provides a space for emerging companies and entrepreneurs to manufacture products, software and technology.
