Transportation

Transportation facilities in DuPage County are unparalleled. One of the world's busiest airports, O'Hare International, is located in the County's northeast corner. DuPage Airport, a general aviation facility in western DuPage, completed a significant expansion in 1988.

O’Hare has over 73 airlines serving 210 nonstop and direct destinations. O'Hare had 36.8 Million Annual passenger enplanements in 2006, with more than 950,000 operations. Additionally, O'Hare is the 15th business air cargo airport by weight in the world serving 23 of the top 25 air cargo airlines across the globe. O'Hare handles about 1.7 millions tons of air cargo a year. This makes it the 2nd busiest cargo airport in the USA and the 15th busiest in the world.

DuPage County, as part of the Chicago metropolitan area with the largest railroad hub in the nation, has excellent rail connections to every part of the United States. Freight service within the County is provided by the Union Pacific, Elgin Joliet and Eastern, Illinois Central, Milwaukee West, and Burlington Northern Santa Fe.

Transit

Pace
Pace, the suburban bus division of the Regional Transportation Authority (RTA), provides fixed bus routes, Dial-a-Ride services, vanpools and special-event buses throughout Chicago's six-county suburban region. The agency is the 14th largest bus service in the United States and Canada.

Metra
The 495-mile Metra rail system serves 23 stations in DuPage County. On Metra you can reach Chicago's beautiful lakefront, museums, zoos, sporting events, shops and restaurants, concerts, special events, schools and colleges as well as quaint, historic suburbs and small towns.
