From its original population of 104 in 1958, Glendale Heights has experienced rapid but controlled growth. While over the past 10 years this growth has been primarily commercial and industrial, there has also been a recent resurgence in residential development. The Village boasts affordable homes, quality schools, superb recreational facilities, easy access to major expressways, convenient shopping centers and proud and friendly residents.
The Village and business owners have worked cooperatively to create attractive, quality corporate environments conducive to attracting commercial and industrial users. The Village’s major commercial centers are ideally located at the fringes of the community enabling them to take advantage of the market provided by adjacent communities as well. The Village has committed to the future development of the North Avenue Corridor with many infrastructure improvements already in place.
The trend in industrial and commercial development has provided a strong, diversified tax base for the Village, as well as job opportunities for the residents. With our large residential areas, growing commercial centers, and a diversified industrial base, Glendale Heights is truly a “Proud and Progressive Village for All People.”
