Downers Grove is located in west suburban DuPage County, only 25 miles from Chicago. Downers Grove was founded by Pierce Downer in 1832. He built the village using trees from a huge grove adjacent to the pristine Illinois prairie. When the railroad established a depot in town, growth was inevitable.
