Burr Ridge, 23 miles southwest of the Chicago Loop, still has the hallmark wetlands, ponds and burr oak trees which make its residential areas among the most desirable in the Chicagoland area. But when the Village marks its 45th Anniversary in October of 2001, a major cause for celebration will be the achievement of a perfect blending of office parks into this natural setting, attracting executives both as residents and as valued members of the growing business community. This business community includes M&M/Mars, the headquarters of Tuthill Corporation and TCF National Bank, as well as the Case Corporation agricultural equipment research center, to name but a few. It is this business community which, year after year, ensures that Burr Ridge has one of the lowest tax rates in DuPage County. County Line Square shopping center, located in the heart of Burr Ridge, is anchored by Bobak's Sausage Company's grocery and restaurant and D. Edmunds Interiors and Floor Fashions. The center includes a number of businesses. A short walk from the center is a PACE Park-N-Ride facility which provides bus service to the Burlington Northern commuter station in Hinsdale as well as directly to the Chicago Loop.
