The name says it all – Choose DuPage. We are building a world-class regional economic development corporation. Simply put, Choose DuPage is dedicated to advancing DuPage County as a premiere global business location by attracting new businesses and retaining those already here.

How will Choose DuPage support and expand its current extraordinary base of international and domestic companies?

Choose DuPage will partner with the 39 member communities in DuPage County to:

be a central facilitator in career, professional, technical education and workforce development
provide public policy assessment and input to strengthen community development capacity for transportation, health care, technology / telecommunications, and redevelopment issues, while assuring environmental and community harmony
create a sense of county identity and create an investment orientation to ensure sustainability of its high quality of life

What prompted the creation of Choose DuPage?

The increase in global competition for business investment has intensified. All other competing regions are attempting to convince business leaders (including those currently in DuPage County) to locate their business in their region. More importantly, the regional DuPage County economy is showing signs of maturing, and questions have been asked about how the County can reach its full potential for prosperity and growth. Visionary DuPage County public and private leadership was needed to maintain and improve the county’s economic vitality and quality of life.

Why was “Choose DuPage” chosen as the corporation’s external marketing name?

Choose DuPage is the external marketing name/brand for the DuPage Regional Development Alliance (DRDA). DRDA is a private/public economic development partnership corporation founded in late 2005. The mission of DRDA is "to expand and diversify the DuPage County economy through actions that stimulate business investment in its communities and generate desirable job opportunities for its residents." The Choose DuPage marketing tag line captures the DuPage County competitive edge - "It's all here".

Who is on the Board of Directors of Choose DuPage?

Choose DuPage has attracted top DuPage County business and organizational leadership representing both the very large, international corporate headquarters to successful smaller entrepreneurs. The Board of Directors will continue to expand by adding additional exceptional local leadership.

How is Choose DuPage funded?

DuPage County and the Choose DuPage founding board of directors provided the initial "new venture" investment to allow the corporation to move forward. Subsequent public/private investment facilitated the completion of a "feasibility" study by a professional economic development consulting firm that verified the private sector’s support for a four-year, $5,500,000 capital campaign to support and stabilize the four-year action plan that Choose DuPage has adopted.

How will Choose DuPage know if they have made a difference?

Like any business organization, Choose DuPage will be expected to meet objective and transparent measures of growth and success such as job growth, office and industrial building absorption, etc. A "dashboard" report will be available to all our investors measuring our progress.
